What Kind of Day Did I Have & Why?
What do you get when you mix Dress Fitting Day and Therapy Day?!?
A happy ass Omi! I’m officially back on track!
How Do I Feel? Health/Lupie Status?
I’ll increase my pain to a 3 today, but that’s understandable considering all of my dramatics yesterday. I’ll get my shit together and get it back down - no sweat!
Workout Time & Duration?
Even though I had a bunch of running around to do, I made it to the gym downstairs for a 30-minute run and core workout. I woke up early and everything! Now that I’m at my goal weight, I gotta hold on to it!
Destination Wedding Task Tackled:
💖 I sent out our guest list and request for menu choice dots to get the place cards rolling and made the decision on ink colors - Copper/Rose gold ink for the place cards and menus and white ink for everything else! Done - and it only took me 3 days!
💖 I also decided that we’re going to use mini easels to display our details instead of trying to pack and lug around picture frames. They'll be cute and will take up less space and weigh less - now I just need to find some ASAP - Acrylic if possible!
💖 My dress fitting went well.
I was really nervous about it because I hadn’t seen my dress since Day 31 and although that fitting went great, Debbie has been obviously busy and hard to pin down since then. But now I’m officially 2 weeks out and my time is a ticking, so I can’t play any more games. Today was my first appointment with a Bridefriend and I’m so glad I brought Alecia with me.

And we brought the fabric for my veils since today was the only day that we had to figure out -
- How do I want these 2 veils to be designed (layered, ombre, slices, etc.)?
- How long do I want the 2 veils to be?
- Do I want both fabrics (light and dark)?
We got a lot of answers and plenty to work with for Monday’s appointment with the veil maker, so I’m feeling great. And dress fits well but isn’t QUITE right. We have some more nipping and tucking to do but I’ll be back tomorrow.
Any Old Destination Wedding Tasks Making a Comeback?
Kinda sorta…
Going back to the payments...I made the final vendor payments on Day 17, with the exception of the payment to our florist. Well...this evening we received an email from our planner, Joyce, letting us know that although the payment was supposed to be made via PayPal, it now needs to be another bank wire - which means I get to take another trip to the bank and we also get to add the additional bank wire fee to our budget...our poor budget spreadsheet!
Loving Black Love Moment?
Che and I had the opportunity to enjoy a great lunch to celebrate our friends’ 1-year wedding anniversary! They are an awesome couple and we got not only celebrate them but also pick their brains to find out how it feels 1-year out and get some last minute destination wedding planning advice. We then got to celebrate more at another great 1-year old birthday party for our friends' daughter and be a part of their happiness.
Today was all about celebrating Black Love in all of it’s different phases!

What am I happy for?
I’m happy that I see my therapist, Julie. I happy that I know I don't know everything and am able to admit that and take steps towards healing and understanding myself and my relationships. Sometimes you just need that in your life - and THIS is that time for me. This week has been filled with ups and downs and a ton of different energies in between and it feels awesome to be able to sit with a trusted professional and get my mind right. I truly appreciate this part of my life and am happy that I am officially 100% confident in my decision to put my unfortunate drama with loved ones on the back burner (hell take it all the way off the stove!) while I’m in the beautiful time in my life.
My prioritization skills are growing up!
What could I have done better?
Not a damn thing! I’m proud of myself today!
What am I doing tomorrow?
We’re going to the outlet and I’m going back to see Debbie at some point in the day for a quick follow up fitting to today’s changes.
I need to find some time to get these boxes together too - they’re cute, but empty.
