Day 18

Tuesday, May 9, 2017

Temperature: High 67° / Low 36°

What Kind of Day Did I Have & Why?

After this productive day, it’s safe to say that I’m officially back in Desti Land AND My Future Hubby now knows where his surprise honeymoon will be! His words: SOCKS BLOWN OFF!

How Do I Feel? Health/Lupie Status?

Still rolling strong so I’ll give my pain a 2 today.

Workout Time & Duration?

Check! I put another morning full body workout under my belt! This time I focused more on my Core and back, but it still was total body in my book...I was there for about 1.5 hours.

and...I got all the way home and realized that I left my keys at the gym so I had to backtrack...too much wedding on the brain!

Destination Wedding Task Tackled:

💖 This morning started off with me sending Che's new shoes off to for exchange for a better fitting size. Hopefully he'll get the right size back before we leave for Mexico, because they're cute! It should be fine.

💖 This afternoon, we went to the Marriage License Bureau together to apply for our marriage license! After much deliberation, we decided that instead of jumping through the hoops for a legal wedding in Mexico, it would be best if we do the legal part here in the US. So the plan is to get our marrige license and have a judge "marry" us close to the day that we leave for Mexico. That way, the “paperwork part” will be done beforehand andwe can do the actual lovey dovey commitment and celebration in Mexico with all the bells and whistles to make it all official! Today's application was a relatively quick process - I filled out our application online in advance, so we when we got to the office we just checked in, met with a lady who verified all of our information and

Boom, Bang, Pow!

We completed Step 1 and now we wait for the license to be completed... it’ll be ready by Friday so I’ll go and pick it up then!

💖 This evening we had our final Skype call with our wedding planner, Joyce to make sure everything was in order...and it isn’t quite yet, but we’re getting there.

  1. We asked about making arrangements for our guests to receive their welcome packages upon arrival to the hotel and we were told that we need to ask our travel agent, Sarah how we should do this...WHY are we asking our travel agent?!? I have No earthly idea - but okay.
  2. We ironed out our wedding week’s details and told her that we will send our seating arrangements and copy her on our emails with our officiant, Gabriela, and all that jazz.
  3. We were  also reminded to make our final payments to our remaining vendors since we don’t want to travel with a ton of cash, so I have some more wires to take care of this week too. I also mentioned the fact that our transportation company's fee is over by $21 and she doesn’t know why it’s over either so I’ll shoot them an email tomorrow...hey - every penny counts right now so imma be like - umm...what is this?!?
  4. And before ending our call, Joyce asked me to check my personal email - inside was a request for me to confirm the type of bouquet I wanted...I’m not gonna panic here - I’m telling myself that it is just a confirmation request...and I’m glad she’s asking this...no need to panic Omi.

Any Old Destination Wedding Tasks Making a Comeback?

Nope, but I don’t know where else to put this and I MUST TELL ON MYSELF:

Being my usual late self... I was rushing to meet Che to go apply for our marriage license and I realized that I don’t have my ring! Really Omi...on THIS day of all days?!? Awe, damn

Loving Black Love Moment?

We were all smiles & hand-in-hand on the way to lunch after completing the process for our marriage license application. Che ordered glasses of Rosé to celebrate and tells the server that we just applied for our marriage license and she was super excited to hear about our celebration. And then I did it! I finally told Che the final piece of his honeymoon surprise:

We're going to the Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort and staying in one of the new Over-the-Water Bungalows!
Now, Che isn’t always easily excitable, but he was SUPER happy to hear the news!

Per my Future Husband:

SOCKS BLOWN OFF!

We watched a couple of YouTube videos to see what we had in store and enjoyed a lovely lunch together!

What am I happy for?

I’m happy that Che took the news of our honeymoon destination well. He doesn’t always immediately respond favorably or pleasantly, so it was awesome to see him in the moment and enjoying it!

What could I have done better?

I could have NOT forgotten my engagement ring on the damn day that we go to apply for our marriage license. I felt like a naked idiot!

When you forget your ring you hide that hand in pics!

When you forget your ring you hide that hand in pics!

What am I doing tomorrow?

Well - my hair is still pink so something needs to happen with that, and I need to jump into this to-do list.

And for good old times sake - making tomorrow better than today!
